My wife and I have been twice. Both times we had been rushing around for most of the day and needed a break. What a treat! The service was exceptional both times. The first time we had our young daughter with us and were not sure how things would work as the atmosphere is quite romantic and adult based. The owner went above and beyond to make it work. My daughter loved the meal he customized for her and it compelled us to go back. Excellent both times.
Appalled by rude and angry service. My wife and I went to Revo Bistro on Valentines Day, and were looking forward to a lovely dinner. When we got there, we were informed that we couldnt order off the regular menu. OK, we get it, its Valentines Daybut $55 for the prix fixe which is normally $30.99? Thats almost double! We told the hostess we were disappointed that we werent told about it when we made reservations, but were willing to pay the higher prices. The next step in the saga was around winewe were told we could only order by the bottle (isnt it a bit unethical to push wine on peoplemany of us drive you know). Now the bad stuff starts! Service was quite slow, I looked around and the owner saw me and came over to take the order. My wife gave him the order, and began by saying we share everying, so it doesnt matter who gets what. We ordered two apps and two mains.and when the owner repeated the order, he made and error, so we went over it again. This took no longer than 2 minutes. The owner got quite brusque and was cutting us off as we were telling him the order. After he left, we decided to cancel the order and leave because the rudeness was really ruining what should have been a special evening out.The young couple at the next table to us told us the young woman was yelled at by the owner because of some request she had made on her drink.I went up to the owner and told him to give me the bill and cancel the orderwe were leaving because of his rudeness. He began mumbling and then said the lady.and said nothing elseit was clear he was going to blame my wife for his bad behaviour (I believe people should take responsibility for their actions). I followed him around the restaurant to get clarification, and he finally came over to our table. He said he had 100 people waiting in the restaurant, and they were all going to leave because we took so long. He was having a tantrum and he was angry and irrational. We were looking for our coats on the coat rack and a gentleman at the table next to the coat rack joked that I should just take a better coatwe got talking and I asked him how he found the restauranthe said the service was slow. When the owner saw me talking to the other gentleman, he said (loudly in front of other customers) go ahead, say whatever you wantthese are my friends for 40 years.I cant stress enough how surreal this all was. A dining experience is made up of more than just the food.the plates we saw looked good.but abuse and mistreatment cant be be erased by the food. If the chef owner has such poor interpersonal skills, he cant run a successful restaurant.Restaurants rely on word of mouth, and we have already begun to let our friends know to steer clear of this restaurant.
