Asian Buffet

Been there several times -at least 15 times- and sadly, each visit is worse than the previous why go so often? Cheap family members who value price over quality. I stick to the rice and (greasy) chicken wings everything else has been regurgitated many times over. For example, their lemon chicken, which is the roast chicken leftovers that are plucked, dunked & fried, next shows up as 'General Tao Chicken' by slapping even more sauce on it tough and nasty.
The washrooms are so decrepit and smelly, rundown and rusting and rotting, that I feel unsafe unzipping like something is gonna reach up and attack me!
Never found the service to be bad typical Chinese restaurant service chop,chop get 'em in, get 'em out!! But they were pleasant enough.
Like I said half the price of the Mandarrin, but absolutely disgusting ( is a former 'Golden Griddle' how long since ya seen them around?) oh, and they WALLPAPERED inside the toilet stalls to try to hide the rust and corrosion! YUCK!

Their food was amazing. Whoever said the food was awful was not being honest. Excellent staff. I will go there again and again.

Not only does the food taste old and seems as though its been sitting around for a couple days, the wait staff are horribly rude. The washrooms are disgusting and as a mother I do not feel comfortable letting my children use the washrooms, so why would I let them eat the food (let alone let my self eat something like that) They must hardly pass the health regulations because I really wouldn't recommend this place to any one. I figure pay a little extra and get some decent food and service.

The food is excellent. Price is excellent. Staff are friendly (maybe the people who complain are miserable people themselves?). My only problem was that they add a service charge to the bill as a tip and then also have a tip line on your credit card receipt. You could potentially double tip (which I did but then they refunded the money when I asked about it). I would recommend this restaurant....

We used to like this restaurant. We been to 3 diffirent places but this one in rexdale is the most aweful one, the waiters and waitresses have no manners.

RUDE service crews!!! Don't ever go to this place. I and my friends went there once and that will be the last! Dirty restaurant!

food was sometimes stale.......horrible staff.............got cursed at and had my change literally slamed infront of me because I asked for it back. AVOID AT ALL COST!

kitchen staff are dirty. They use gloves to pick up dirty dishes and use the same gloves to the clean plates and utensils.We use to eat in this restaurant but not anymore.

The food was gross, the cutlery and plates weren't even always clean. The best thing was the ice water, I have no idea what all the hype was about.

Food is good and fresh, for that I would always go there, but if you don't tip what they think is adequate, you get a dirty look and they complain loud enough for you to hear. A real turn off. I left the tip on the table and therefore didn't tip when I paid. Such rudeness is unforgiveable. For that, I will never go back. Should not have to tip at a buffet restaurant anyways!

i find the place absolutely delightful. great food for a reasonable price. the retro decor makes you feel like you're still in the 70's. my only complaint is that the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. how's about cleaning it on the reg.

honestly I fell inluv with this buffet since i went there for the 1st time in 2006. Up to now I still go there even if I don't live around. i LOVE their food and will go there till i die. good prices too. lv u all

My husband and I feel fortunate that we have located a good qulity restaurant without gorging pricewise. We eat there at least once a month and continue to go back. The food is good quality and there are lots of choices. Some have compared it to the Mandarin in terms of food quality and service and I would agree that it is a good comparison, equal in value but at less than half the price. The only way the Mandarin outranks is in the decor as the Asian Buffet needs a bit of a an uplift in terms of their decor so I wouldn't take anyone there for a 'fancy' dinner but the rest is very good.

You get excellent value for what you pay at Asian Buffet. People want to pay $10 and get lobster, then stay home! For the price, the selection is excellent and the food does NOT sit there for hours (whoever said that is an idiot). There are so many people who go there that they are constantly filling it up again and again. Tips are a part of eating out. If you are not willing to tip 10-15% then stay home! Or better yet YOU can go to Mandarin and pay $25 per person and I'll continue to go to Asian Buffet and not sit next to ignorant people. We all win!

Service is always fast plates taken away promptly and water filled continuously. As far as the tip that is automatically added to your bill...if you find 10% too expensive then you simply should not be eating out. Highly recommended and it is a great asset to have in the area for a good meal.

I last posted on 2007-11-23. I thought that I would try it out last night, as I was getting hungry (and lazy). I was hoping that the quality of the food went up from my last visit.

There were a lot of customers who seemed pleased. I was amazed that they were so busy! As before, the food just sits around for hours (days?) Most of the food tasted old. This is just gross. It amazes me that so many people don't seem to care or notice! A lot of food, yes, but poor quality in my opinion.

The food and service are good but the tips they DEMAND are out of this world....They said I am not welcome in their resturant if I can't meet the tips they DEMAND ....

I really like it but then the food becomes hard and u cant chew it any more after a few hours which is gross..... i think the chefs should change the food every 20-30 minutes..... i have been teaking family there and they have loved it and i am not chinese trust me

Asian buffet is the best but charge to much tip

I would rate Asian Buffet excellent because whenever my family and I order take out from here their service is fast and i can rely on them. Even in the coldest storms they still come to my doorstep to pass over my hot delicious meal!!!

this is a great inexpensive place to eat. if your looking for a holiday place to eat its here, instead of hiring prices they lower their price.
you get what you pay for and it's pretty good for it's price.

My husband and I think that the food at the asian buffet is great, the prices are resonably and I have recommended it to many of my friends.

I have frequented this restaurant for over three years. I have found in the past that overall the food has been a good value. Unfortunately, I have to now give this restaurant a bad rating. The quality of the food has been slipping over the last couple of years. The fish, which tasted fresh and tasty now tastes old and tasteless. The hot and sour soup really doesnt have the spiciness to it as it should. The meats on the skewers are like they have been there for hours (tough and dried out). The noodles are excellent but many of the other dishes taste like they have been sitting around just too long. One beef dish was a major exercise to chew.

During the night my wife was sick to her stomach, diarrhea and throwing up. She was fine before we ate out.

I used to frequent the Famous Japan Restaurant further west on Rexdale Blvd. They had fantastic food but went out of business. I really cant see the Asian Buffet lasting at this rate. They can do much better. They really need to revamp the menu or lose (more) customers.

GREAT FOOD, AFFORABLE PRICES, NICE SERVICE

Close to home- have never been disapointed. Nice varied menu. Staff is very friendly and pleasant, and recognizes frequent guests. Have taken people there a few times and all have enjoyed.

The food is always fresh and the prices are excellent. Their chicken wings are so yummy!
