Bert and Ernie's Fun Food Eatery

I just wanted to send a message about how disappointed I have been with the service at Bert and Ernie's on Renforth. I have only gone on two occasions and left unhappy both times. My softball team plays at Centennial Park on Wednesday nights and as a result, we look for places to eat nearby afterwards. We decided to try B not only did I have to search for the waitress, she didn't tell me that I had a choice of soup and just brought what she thought was fit (I didn't even know that I got soup with the special!), I had to ask for my drink several times, and when I went to pay I had to wait because she was outside on the patio smoking. The second time was earlier this week. Again, about 6 of us went to the restaurant hoping to get some food. We had to set up our tables on the patio, go inside to ask for menus (the same waitress was outside smoking and talking to other male patrons when we arrived), and sat outside for about 15 minutes before one of my teammates decided to go in and get the waitress. To our surprise, we were rudely advised that she would only serve us if we were inside and she refused to serve us on the patio. As far as I know, sitting on an outside patio is an extension of a restaurant but apparently not at this place. If that WAS the policy, it would have been nice for the waitress to come outside and advise us instead of chatting with the other patrons then standing at the bar filling out paperwork knowing that we were waiting for her. Needless to say, we left and took our business to another local bar who was willing to serve us on the patio. The customer service at this place was awful it is understandable that it could be slower if there is only one person working however to have to wait for a waitress to finish her smoking and socializing outside just to be told that we weren't going to be served is an insult. This woman acted like we were inconveniencing her by asking her for menus then for food. Other people on the patio had drinks we weren't even offered the same courtesy. We won't be going back and will be sure that other teams are aware of what to expect.

I live in the area it's located and I can tell you first hand that the place is full of drunks and sketchy people. The food is terrible and just nasty, and the beer is so flat and warm it makes it very hard to wash down your terrible food. The owners are shady and have no control over what goes on in their own Bar. If you like bars that smell like urine and cigarettes you have found your place oh and if you do not enjoy great and cheerful service you have found the place for you. The staff is more experienced than the ownership, and thats not saying much. All summed up this place needs to be CONDEMNED. I would never step foot in that place ever again. It has also turned a very quiet and family run neighbor hood into a bar brawl event every night.

I just came across these reviews while searching through this site and I must say I have to disagree with these people. Maybe you guys had a bad night, I was at Bert & Ernie's couple of times and have been very impressed with this place.

It is a ok place to be.

That place has gone even further down hill than it was going before. Terrible place to be. Servers are not experienced, and niether is the kitchen staff. Managers are not present nor friendly. Terrible place to be

what? this place is garbage. Used to be one on bloor west village too. all the alcoholics hang there all day and night. there is nothing good about this place. not even their warm beer or nasty wings. never ever

This place has undergone some major changes, some good and some bad but it is on its way back up!
